Working across contexts of performance and live art, River Lin stages live work in gallery settings to perform notions of expanded choreography, social engagement, and queer culture. He is Shortlisted Artist for the 2022 Live Art Prize.

His work has been commissioned or presented by institutions and artist-run festivals, including the Centre Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo, Lafayette Anticipations, and Centre National de la Danse (Paris), Tokyo Real Underground Festival, the KANAL Centre Pompidou and KAAI Theatre (Brussels), Live Art Development Agency (London), the Manifesta 11 (Zurich), Buzzcut Festival (Glasgow), Month of Performance Art Berlin, Rapid Pulse International Performance Art Festival (Chicago), Draw to Perform and Tempting Failure (London), ANTI Contemporary Art Festival (Kuopio), the M+ Museum (Hong Kong), Asia Contemporary Art Week (New York/ Dubai), Serendipity Arts Festival (Goa), the Rockbund Art Museum, Ming Contemporary Art Museum and TANK (Shanghai), the 2020 Taiwan Biennial,  2016 Taipei Biennial, Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab and Taipei Fine Arts Museum, and the Liveworks Festival (Sydney) among others. 

He served as a jury member at the Live Art Prize of ANTI Contemporary Art Festival in 2017. In the same year, presented by Taipei Performing Arts Center, he initiated ADAM (Asia Discovers Asia Meeting for Contemporary Performance) designed for artistic exchanges and cross-cultural collaborations across the fields of visual and performing arts in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. In 2018, he curated Taiwanese program at TPAM Fringe in Yokohama. In 2019, he co-curated Camping Asia festival in collaboration with Centre National de la Danse of France. In 2022 he co-curated the performance festival The Non-fungible Body for Upper Austria State Museums in Linz, BLEED Biennial in Australia and Indonesia Dance festival in Jakarta.

Born in 1984 in Taiwan, River Lin currently lives and works between Paris and Taipei. In 2023, he is appointed Curator, Taipei Arts Festival.

River Lin est un artiste qui travaille dans les contextes de l'art visuel, de la danse et de la culture queer par le biais de la création, de la recherche et de la conservation.

Il met en scène des œuvres dans des galeries sous forme de chorégraphies, de rencontres ou de situations élargies afin de spéculer sur les notions d'histoires hétéronormatives, d'engagement social et de performativité des médiums.

Le travail de River a été présenté par le Centre Pompidou, le Palais de Tokyo, Lafayette Anticipations, le Centre National de la Danse (Paris), KANAL Centre Pompidou (Bruxelles), ANTI Contemporary Art Festival (Kuopio), Live Art Development Agency (Londres), M+ Museum (Hong Kong), Rockbund Art Museum (Shanghai), Asia Contemporary Art Week (New York/Dubai), Serendipity Arts Festival (Goa), 2016 Taipei Biennial, Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab, Tokyo Real Underground Festival et Liveworks Festival (Sydney), entre autres.

Il est commissaire d'événements et de festivals internationaux tels que Asia Discovers Asia Meeting for Contemporary Performance (ADAM), Musée de la danse de Taipei, et Camping Asia en collaboration avec le Centre National de la Danse. En 2022, il co-organisera la Biennale Bleed en Australie, le festival de danse d'Indonésie et le festival Non-fungible Body pour les musées d'État de Haute-Autriche à Linz.

跨足行為藝術、視覺藝術、舞蹈、社會參與及酷兒文化等脈絡,林人中的藝術實踐包括研究、創作與策展。他是2022 歐洲Live Art Prize 入圍藝術家。

他曾受邀擔任2017芬蘭現場藝術獎決選團評審。同年,他與台北表演藝術中心合作創辦「亞當計畫」,促進亞太地區藝術家的合作與交流。他曾於2018橫濱TPAM藝穗節策劃台灣項目;2019年與法國國家舞蹈中心共同策劃Camping Asia藝術節。2022年,他策劃了林茲州立美術館The Non-fungible Body藝術節、澳洲BLEED數位雙年展及印尼舞蹈節。

1984年生於台北,林人中現旅居巴黎。
